Biography
Lijian Xu is Professor of Plant Protection at Heilongjiang University, China. He received his Bachelor degree in Plant Protection at Northeast Agricultural University, China and his Ph. D. in Plant Pathology at China Agricultural University. He also spent extended research training at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
Research Interest
His research interests include natural products from microorganisms, microbial diversity and secondary metabolism. Currently, he focuses on fungal secondary metabolites, especially antifungal and antibacterial compounds and he is looking for novel antibiotics and bio-pesticides produced by fungi isolated from plants, soil and marine.
