Biography

Dr. Jane Ru Choi received her Bachelor degree (Hons) in Biomedical Science from The National University of Malaysia in 2012 and Ph.D. in Engineering from University of Malaya, Malaysia in 2016. She is currently a Research Fellow at The University of British Columbia, Canada. Her research interests include cell and molecular biology, analytical chemistry, food technologies and point-of-care diagnostics. Her work focuses on evaluating the effect of cryopreservation and different culture conditions on stem cells and developing microfluidic technologies for clinical diagnosis, environmental monitoring and food safety analysis. Dr. Choi has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed articles, 2 book chapters with 8 patents issued or pending. Her works have been published in several leading journals including Critical Reviews in Biotechnology, Cellular and Molecular Life Sciences, Trends in Analytical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biosensors and Bioelectronics, Lab on a Chip, Advanced Healthcare Materials etc with three selected as journal cover. Some of them have been highlighted in Elsevier?s Summer Chemistry Collection, X-MOL News, Wiley Materials Views China and Advanced Science News.
