|? ON-GOING RESEARCH 1. Molecular Characterization of Plasmid- & Chromosomally-Borne Extended Spectrum ?-Lactamases (ESBLs), Metallo-?-Lactamases (MBLs), AmpC-Mediated Resistance, and Plasmid-Mediated Colistin Resistance Gene (mcr-1, mcr-2 & mcr-3) in environmental Isolates of Klebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa from Abattoir and Poultry Samples in Ebonyi State, Southeastern Nigeria 2. Molecular characterization of HIV-1 latency in HIV reservoir cells including the CD4+ T cells, CNS, lymph nodes and genital cells as a panacea to finding a total cure for HIV infection. ? COMPLETED RESEARCH 1. Multidrug resistance mechanisms in Enterobacteriaceae including Klebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli,, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa with key interest in extended spectrum ?-lactamases (ESBLs), metallo-?-lactamases (MBLs), AmpC enzymes and methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) strains. 2. Characterization and determination of bioactive components of medicinal plants and oil including Azadirachta indica (Neem), Moringa oleifera (drumstick), honey, Buchholzia coriacea (wonderful kola), and Garcinia kola (bitter kola).|
