Biography

Christopher T. Chen, Ph.D. is Assistant Professor and the Director of Orthopedic Research Laboratory in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Texas – Arlington and an adjunct faculty member of Cornell Medical College / Hospital for Special Surgery. Dr. Chen’s research is focused on the early changes of injured joints and the roles of mechanobiology in joint inflammation, cartilage degeneration and connective tissue regeneration. Dr. Chen received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University, Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Univ. of Wisconsin at Madison and postdoctoral training in biochemistry from Cornell University
