Laparoscopic Surgery

Laparoscopy is the modern technique used for mild to moderate endometriosis. It can be diagnosed and removed by using laparoscopic surgery. It can be performed through a surgical procedure avoiding large abdominal incisions through a lighted viewing instrument called laparoscope.

Laparoscopic surgery, also called minimally invasive surgery (MIS), or keyhole surgery, is a modern surgical technique in which surgeries can be performed  through small incisions (usually 0.5–1.5 cm) in the body. This can be reduce pain and hemmroge comparatively to other types of surgeries. There are two types of laparoscope: (1) a telescopic rod lens system, that is usually connected to a video camera  or (2) a digital laparoscope where the charge-coupled device is placed at the end of the laparoscope.
