Abstract

Use of Infrared Thermography to Monitor the Health of Intensively Housed Livestock

Cook N J

Present and emerging diseases of livestock are a major threat to food security and human health. Radiated temperature measurement by infrared thermography can be automated to remotely record the surface temperature of animals, both individually and in groups, and forms the basis of a disease detection system.
