Abstract

The environment crisis in India

While CO2 emission come from a variety of natural sources, human -related emission are responsible for the increase that has occurred in the atmosphere since the industrial revolution. Brick kilns in India characterized by traditional modes of production low capital – intensity, seasonal employment patterns and lack of adequate regulations. While there are no official estimates of brick production in the country, but unofficially there are over a lack brick kilns in India producing about 250 billion bricks annually and contributed to 7.7 % of the country GDP (10,64, 068crores) RBI Database on Indian Economy. Brick kiln migrants hail from socially disadvantage backgrounds , brick kiln migrants are casual wage laborers and economically vulnerable and Brick kilns migrants predominantly rural. The environment crisis in India is many -sided and multi- faced which has to be addressed on the Summit. We need to harness scientific and social -scientific expertise to develop and promote eco-friendly technologies in construction, energy, water management, industrial production and transportation. Scientific innovation needs to be complemented by legislative change as well as by changes in social behavior for all that we need a logical support from the world  fronts working for  the grave concerns especially from the wonderful Summit which is  going to be held
