Biography

Philippe Boutinaud, 48, is full professor at the National Graduate School of Chemistry of Clermont-Ferrand (ENSCCF), France. He was the head of the department of inorganic chemistry in this school for more than 10 years and is, for the last 15 years, director of the specialized courses «High performance Materials» (equivalent of Master degree) at ENSCCF. He defended a PhD in materials sciences in 1991 in Bordeaux, France. His research activity is, for the last 20 years, mostly dedicated to the luminescence processes in optical materials elaborated as films or as bulks. He works in close collaboration with many research groups in Europe (Italy, The Netherlands, Spain, Poland), Asia (Japan, India) and USA. He was invited more than 20 times in international conferences, gave more than 100 communications, authored 85 ISI publications and is co-author of two patents.
