Biography

Dr. Lavinia Margarit specialized in Obstetrics-Gynaecology at the University Hospital Patras-Greece obtaining the CCST IN 2001. In 2002 moved to UK and worked in ABMUHB for the past 12 years. Since 2009 she is a Consultant in in Princess of Wales Hopsital Bridgend. Her special interests are in minimal access surgery and research. She is also Gynaecological Cancer Unit lead for the ABMUHB East sites. Lavinia completed a PhD in High Risk Obstetrics with the University of Patras, an MD in Reproductive Biology at Swansea University (2010) and a Masters in Gynaecological Endoscopy (2011) at Surrey University. She also has a honorary academic clinical appointment with Swansea University working within the Reproductive Biology and Gynaecological Oncology Group. Her research focuses on clinical and biomarker determinants associated with female infertility and gynaecological cancers. Her aim is to translate basic research findings into clinical observations aimed to patient benefit.

Minimal access surgery and research. She is also Gynaecological Cancer Unit lead for the ABMUHB East sites.
