Mr. Kee Hean Lim has vast clinical, research, training and teaching experience. He is the MSc module leader of the Occupational Therapy in Mental Health module at Brunel University (UK) and his research interests include promoting cultural competency in practice, occupation and recovery, service user empowerment and social inclusion, the socio-construction of occupation and occupational therapy and the utility of the Kawa ‘River’ Model.

He is also Lead co-ordinator for the Occupational Therapy Abroad programme, which is an international collaboration amongst several universities and NGOs, which provides students the opportunity to undertake clinical practice abroad. He is a current member on the Research, Diversity and Equality committee at Brunel and was a steering committee member of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (Diversity Matters: Guiding Principles on Diversity and Culture) project. He is a current United Kingdom Occupational Therapy Research Foundation (COT) research grant holder and is completing his PhD studies in the area of Occupation and Mental Health Recovery within the framework of the Kawa ‘River’ Model.

He has presented his research both nationally and internationally and is a visiting lecturer at several universities within the UK and the MSc European Masters in Occupational Therapy. He has also represented the College of Occupational Therapists in various professional and national steering groups in line with his research expertise and has published within the areas of cultural competence, mental health practice, transcultural practice, mental health recovery, occupational therapy and the Kawa ‘River’ Model.
