Biography

Dr. P. A. Suresh is the founder director of Institute for Communicative and Cognitive Neurosciences (ICCONS, Trivandrum and ICCONS, Shoranur), the first institute of its kind in the Asian countries for comprehensive multidisciplinary management, rehabilitation, research and development of cognitive and communicative disorders. Dr. Suresh obtained his MBBS degree in 1977, MD (General Medicine) in 1986, DM (Neurology) in 1991, and MBA in 2013. He has been working as a Neurologist since 1992, first at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences (Trivandrum), and then on at ICCONS, where he has been serving as the Director since 1998. At present, he is also a task force member of Department of Science and Technology-Cognitive Science Research Initiative (DST-CSRI; Govt of India), the aim of which is to revolutionize research, with special emphasis on highly interdisciplinary ideas, in the field of cognitive science.
