The neuroendocrine system consists of nerve and gland cells, It produces hormones and releases them into the bloodstream, Neuroendocrine tumors are neoplasms that arise from cells of the endocrine (hormonal) and nervous systems, Neuroendocrine tumors (carcinoids), are abnormal growths that begin in the neuroendocrine cells, which are distributed throughout the body, Many Neuroendocrine tumors first appear in the lungs or the gastrointestinal tract, including the stomach, pancreas, appendix.
