This is a condition characterized by insufficient production of testosterone (male hormone which is responsible for sexual growth); it can be in-born or acquired condition. There are different types including primary (originates from testicles) and secondary (originates in pituitary gland). Primary hypogonadism is caused due to different diseases like Klinelefilter’s syndrome, Un-descendent testicles, Hemochromatosis and Cancer treatment; while secondary hypogonadism is caused due to AIDS, medications, normal aging and obesity. Hormone therapy plays very crucial role for this, mainly testosterone replacement therapy. Assisted reproduction also can be considered as treatment option.
