Health Promotion is the process of educating people to focus on individual’s health and make them health conscious in order to improve their health. Health promotion involves conducting programs on health issues, using posters that express healthcare aspects and necessity of health care, counseling people regarding intake of nutritious food and physical activity.
Health promotion is implicitly based on several values: equity and social justice, a holistic definition of health, covers the full range of health determinants, recognizes the influence of environment on health, empowers people and builds individual and collective capacity, seeks to enhance peoples social participation, involves intersectorial collaboration.
