Biography

Dr. Tella attended medical school in India. He completed his residency training at Creighton University School of Medicine, Omaha, NE and endocrinology fellowship training at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD. During his training he was actively involved in clinical research in bone and mineral metabolism. He currently acts as lead associate investigator for 5 of ongoing trials at the National Institutes of Health. He received Shire award for outstanding contribution to bone and mineral research and young investigator awards x 3 from Endocrine Society, USA. He has authored more than 20 peer reviewed journal articles in the areas in the areas of Osteoporosis, neuroendocrine tumors and diabetes. His areas of interest include bone and mineral metabolism, oncologic endocrinology, and neuroendocrine tumors.
