Biography
Dr Daniela Giacomazza is born on February 12, 1956, Palermo, Italy
She is married to Pier Luigi San Biagio. They have two sons: Marco (March 8, 1982) and Livio (September 14, 1987).
Currently, she is working at the Institute of Biophysics, one of the Institute of the Italian National Research Council. She is serving as an editorial member and as reviewer of several reputed journals like Biophysical Chemistry, RSC Advances, Frontiers in Pharmacology and Molecular Neurobiology. She is a member of the Biophysical Society, Society of Rheology (AIP), Italian Association of Rheology, Italian Society for Pure and Applied Biophysics.
Research Interest
Research interest lies in the characterization of new biocompatible polymers; hydrogels obtained either for physical crosslinking, gamma or ultraviolet radiations; Biomolecular self-assembly; Sol-gel transition in protein and biopolymeric solutions.
Mechanisms of gelation; Gelation and glass transition; Relation between gelation pathway and structural properties of gel; Polymeric colloidal systems for drug delivery and gene therapy; Micro and nanoparticles based on polymeric molecules.
