Byeang Hyean Kim
Byeang Hyean Kim is Director of Lab for Modified Nucleic Acid systems Department of Chemistry Pohang University of Science and Technology Korea. He received Jang Sehee Award in Organic Chemistry (KCS) in 1999, Aldrich Award (KCS) in 2005, Asian Core Program Lectureship Awards by Japan and Thailand in 2007, and Scientist of the Month Award (KOSEF) in May, 2008. He was elected as a member of The Korean Academy of Science and Technology in 2010.
 
Biography
Byeang Hyean Kim got his undergraduate education at Seoul National University and obtained his M. S. degree from the KAIST in 1979. In 1987 he received Ph. D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh and worked as a postdoctoral associate with Professor K. C. Nicolaou at the University of Pennsylvania from 1987 to 1988. He has served as Head of the Department of Chemistry of Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) from 2006 to 2008 and is currently Professor of Chemistry. From 2015 to 2017 he has served as Dean of Graduate School, POSTECH. He received Jang Sehee Award in Organic Chemistry (KCS) in 1999, Aldrich Award (KCS) in 2005, Asian Core Program Lectureship Awards by Japan and Thailand in 2007, and Scientist of the Month Award (KOSEF) in May, 2008. He was elected as a member of The Korean Academy of Science and Technology in 2010.
