Research Interest
- Investigation of medicinal and food plants focused to the isolation, structural elucidation of secondary metabolites and evaluation of their biological activities; - Isolation of new lead compounds with pharmaceutical, agrochemical, nutraceutical and cosmetic interest from natural sources (aromatic and medicinal plants) originated from Mediterranean and global biodiversity. - Identification and structure elucidation of natural products using state-of-the-art spectroscopic techniques. - Developent of analytical strategies for the quali-quantitative determination of secondary metabolites in plant extract and herbal products. - Green Chemistry and large-scale extraction of high added value natural products. - In vitro and in vivo evaluation of traditional Algerian Medicinal Plants. - Complementary therapy (including herbal medicine and aromatherapy) and potential applications in modern pharmacy practice as part of integrative therapy. - Investigation and identifying pro-inflammatory, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and analgesic promoting components’ extracts or isolated compounds from medicinal, cosmetic and edible plants. - Evaluation and detection of biologically active components and potential drug and/or disease interaction of folk medicine remedies
